Prépositions de lieu : la provenance

In general, de = from.
Je viens de Paris. I come from Paris.
Il arrive directement de l’aéroport. He’s coming straight from the airport.
Je sors de la boulangerie. I’m leaving, exiting the bakery.

Don’t forget that:
de + le → du
Elle arrive du Québec She’s (just) arrived from Quebec.
de + les → des
Nous venons des États-Unis We come from the USA.
