Telling people not to worry

•  Ne t’inquiète pas or Ne vous inquiétez pas (the polite form), are idiomatic expressions which mean ‘Don’t worry’:
- Tu es sûr que tu n’es pas malade ? - Ne t’inquiète pas, je vais très bien ! -Are you sure you’re not ill? -Don’t worry, I’m fine.
- Je vais rater mes examens ! - Mais non, ne t’inquiète pas, ça va bien se passer. -I’m going to fail my exams. -Don’t worry! Everything will be fine.
- On va tous mourir ! - Ne t’inquiète pas, ça va aller... -We’re all going to die! -Don’t worry, it’ll be ok.
- Oh ! mon Dieu ! Tu es tombé ! Ça va ? - Ne t’inquiète pas, je n’ai pas mal. -Oh my god, you fell! Are you ok? -Don’t worry, I’m not hurt.
•  In spoken French, you might hear T’inquiète pas ! or even T’inquiète !
- On va rater notre avion ! - T’inquiète pas, on a encore le temps ! -We’re gonna miss the plane! -Don’t worry, there’s still time!
- J’ai le trac, je veux pas chanter en public ! - T’inquiète, ça va le faire. -I’m scared, I don’t want to sing in public! -Relax, you’ll be fine.
