Même or mêmes?

When même means ‘even’, it is an adverb, so no agreement is necessary.
Même eux, ils n’y ont pas pensé. Even they didn’t think of it.

When même means ‘same’, it is an adjective, so it agrees with the noun it accompanies. In this case, it usually comes after le, la or les.
J’ai les mêmes yeux que toi. I have the same eyes as you.
J’ai la même robe. I have the same dress.

When -même comes after a pronoun (lui, moi, nous, etc.), it means ‘-self’ or ‘selves’, and agrees with the pronoun.
Ils l’ont fait eux-mêmes. They did it themselves.
Nous l’avons fait nous-mêmes. We did it ourselves.
