Les verbes en -yer au futur simpleIn the future tense, to conjugate verbs that end in -YER, such as payer (to pay), replace the -YER ending with -IER and then add the future endings (-ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont). The same goes for ennuyer (to bore/irritate), nettoyer (to clean), etc.
Demain, Muriel et Marcel nettoieront la cuisine et Victor essuiera la vaisselle. Tomorrow, Muriel and Marcel will clean the kichen and Victor will do the dishes.
You can also keep the -y for verbs that end in -AYER, such as payer (to pay), balayer (to sweep), essayer (to try), etc.
Je paierai ou Je payerai I will pay.
